Weekend Retreat

At first, Kate and Gail were thinking about helping their friends find a match, but decided the first event should be for 30 somethings rather than 20 somethings.  Too many of their friends weren’t really ready to settle down.

As the idea grew, they decided the first event should be more than a single party as first planned.  Instead it should be a retreat, with some planned activities and some free time along with mini workshops.  People having fun usually reveal a lot about themselves and if you can’t relax and have fun, well that’s good to know too.

The fact that these Potentials were in their 30s and not married gave rise to the thought that just maybe they could use a few tips, hence the mini workshops.

Since Trish and Dana were teachers, they took over the planning.

The Bakers are Trish’s aunt and uncle and she knew they would be going out of town for September, so she was able to arrange to use this amazing B&B.  (Turns out, their son is recently divorced and they hope he will try Mix and Match when he’s ready to find love again.)

There wasn’t enough room for all the Potentials to park at the B&B, so Adam, Nick, Sol and John took turns shuttling them to the B&B from a couple of churches Friday afternoon and evening.   Then took them back again on Monday afternoon.
